Moderate earthquake jolted Nayagarh district in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: A moderate magnitude earthquake struck the town of Daspala in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Friday, officials said.

Sources at the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) said the quake had a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale.

The National Center for Seismology said the epicenter of the 3.5-magnitude quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers in Ganja district and could be felt at 11:19 p.m.

There were also no reports of loss of life or property damage, a regional official said.

Last month, a moderate earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck the Kalahandi and Nabarangpur districts of Odisha.
